Applications

Disinfection

Sodium hypochlorite is also one of the most effective disinfecting agents. Its ability to pass through the cell membranes, joined to its high chemical potential, permits the product to kill practically every kind of microorganism, even at low temperature and low concentration. Due to that, sodium hypochlorite is widely used in industrial and household applications for fast and ensured disinfecting action. It is also widely used in the sterilization of potable water.

Oxidation

Sodium hypochlorite shows a very high chemical potential. This property is exploited in a wide range of chemical reactions.

Sodium Hypochlorite

Cause servere skin burns. Cause serious eye damage. Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. May intensity fire.

Prevention

Keep away from heat keep only in original container do not breathe mist gas, spray or vapour wash thoroughly after handling avoid release to the environment wear protection gloves protective cloth eye protection eye and face protection.

Responses

If swallowed rinse mouth do not induce vomiting.
If on skin take off immediately all contaminated clothes rinse skin with water shower.
If inhaled remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.
If in eyes rinse with water for several minutes remove contact lenses present and easy to do continue rising watch contaminated cloth before reuse absorb spilling to prevent material damage specific treatment immediately call up poison centre or doctor.

Storage

Store away from incompatible material store and corrosive resident container with resistant inner layer store in well ventilated place keep containers tightly close store in according to local region national and international regulation store lock down.
